Daily grazing area is calculated using pre and post grazing cover and estimated total
grass DMI. However in poorer conditions/lower quality swards, cows will eat less, but
will not necessarily need less area, as some grass will not be utilised, due to tramping etc.
Assumes all cows eat same amount of grass, irrespective of milk yield or level of concentrate fed.
Maximum parlour feed levels should not exceed 10 - 12 kg/day.
Assumes all heifers eat same amount of grass(20% less than cows), irrespective of milk yield or level of concentrate fed.
Maximum parlour feed levels should not exceed 8 - 10 kg/day.
